Councilman Kenney to Chick-Fil-A: "Take a Hike"

The Philadelphia Councilman at-large wrote a letter to the president of Chick-Fil-A regarding the company's stance on same-sex marriage.

At-large Councilman Jim Kenney did not hesitate to take a stand in the controversy over the fast food giant Chick-Fil-A. The company's president, Dan Cathy, took his own stand recently against same-sex marriage.

The company's stance has received some backlash since the issue came to light. Philadelphia at-large Councilman Jim Kenney was among those who expressed their disappointment with Chick-Fil-A, in a letter addressed to Cathy:

"As an American you are legally entitled to your opinion, regardless of how insensitive and intolerant it may be, but as 21 fellow American and an elected member of Philadelphia City Council; I am entitled to express my opinion as well. So please - take a hike and take your intolerance with you. There is no place for this type of hate in our great City of Brotllerly and Sisterly Affection," Kenney wrote.
