Police Blotter: Burglaries and A Rash of Thefts from Autos

Attempted burglary … A resident of the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike reported June 12, 3:19 a.m., that she heard someone pulling on the door handle of her front door, but when she knocked on the inside of the door, a man, described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic male with black hair, about 5’8” and 175 lbs., ran away, police said.

Theft from auto … A woman reported June 11, 11 p.m., that while her car was parked on the 100 block of Bethlehem Pike, someone had entered her unlocked vehicle, but nothing was taken, police said.

Theft from auto … A man reported June 11, 6:18 p.m., that while he was parked on the unit block of Valley Green Road, someone had broken into his car and taken a briefcase containing external hard drives, a pair of gold earring and a GPS system, valued in total at $1,000, police said.

Burglary … A resident of the unit block of East Willow Grove Avenue reported June 11, 6 a.m., that he and his wife had been away for a few days, and when they returned, a window on their home had been pried open and several thousand dollars in jewelry and other valuables were missing, police said.

Theft from auto … A man reported June 10, 10 p.m., that while he was parked on the 8700 block of Prospect Avenue, someone went into his car and took a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses, valued at $200, police said.

Burglary … A resident of the 200 block of Benezet Street reported June 10, 10:36 a.m., that two men entered her house through a front window and took $300 out of her wallet before fleeing northbound on Benezet Street, police said.

Theft from auto … A woman reported June 9, 6 a.m., that while she was parked on the 100 block of East Chestnut Hill Avenue, someone broke the front, passenger-side window on her car and took a backpack, $40 cash, and iPod, make-up and medication, police said.

Theft from auto … A man reported June 9, 3 a.m., that while he was parked on the unit block of East Chestnut Hill Avenue, someone broke the drivers side window of his car and took a GPS system, valued at $100, police said.

Theft from auto … A man reported June 8, 11:30 p.m., that while he was parked on the 8700 block of Prospect Avenue, someone broke the drivers side window on his car and had gone through his glove compartment and console, although nothing appeared to be missing, police said.

Theft from auto … A woman reported June 8, 12 a.m., that while she was parked on the 9600 block of Germantown Avenue, someone broke the passenger side window on her car and took A GPS system, a bank card and a gas card, police said.
