History: Express left this space about three years ago, and the storefront has been vacant since. Before that, Express leased the section for 10 years.

The Challenge: The space is 5,000 square feet, which is too big for most independent businesses. Although it is zoned to allow food, there is no kitchen, and the owners would prefer not to have another restaurant to compete with their next-door tenants, Iron Hill.

Interest: There has been a letter of intent on the space since before Christmas, said Retail Recruiter Eileen Reilly, but there has been no further movement on that front. The letter came from a retail shop.

Potential: "Definitely retail. Anything that would make people's days fun, interesting or convenient," Reilly said. She added that a take-out restaurant would also work, but take-out rarely, if ever, needs 5,000 square feet of space.
