A Dickens of a Christmas in Chestnut Hill

Happy birthday, Charles Dickens. To celebrate the 200th birthday of the man who brought "A Christmas Carol" into the world, not to mention "Tale of Two Cities", "David Copperfield" and many other classics, Chestnut Hill is looking to the past this Christmas Present to bring the Victorian Era alive.

Along with the following events, will be offering a Taste of Dickens, with a Dickens sandwich, and will be offering a three-course, DIckens-inspired menu throughout December, Sunday- Thursday, for $38.

Saturday, Dec. 3

A Dickens Tea with Scrooge, 1 - 2 p.m.,        

Courtney Carolers along Germantown Avenue, 1:30-3:30 p.m.          

Victorian Holiday Card Making Workshop, 2 - 3 p.m.,

Reading from "A Christmas Carol", 3-3:30 p.m., Woodmere Art Museum

Holiday Reception: Phila. Girls Choir concert, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m., Woodmere Art Museum

Sunday, Dec. 4        

Tiny Tim & Bob Cratchit, Dickens Character along Germantown Avenue, 1 - 3 p.m.               

Roasted Chestnuts, 1 - 3 p.m.,

Saturday, Dec. 10     

Buskers 10-min. Christmas Carol on Germantown Avenue, 12, 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m.
