Tuesday was a turning point in the new meetinghouse project for . The groundbreaking took place at 8:30 a.m. despite a downpour.
The Chestnut Hill Friends New Meetinghouse Project has exceeded its $3 million fundraising goal and has officially raised $3.2 million with a recent grant from the William Penn Foundation. However, new developments regarding construction costs require raising an additional $200,000 to cover the increased expenses. After construction begins this month, the campaign will begin to focus on raising funds for a program endowment.
