Police Seek Help Identifying Armed Robber

Police need help identifying a man who they say committed an armed robbery on Stenton Avenue last week.

The police officers of the 14th Police District are asking for help in identifying a man they believe robbed a discount store on Stenton Avenue on July 13.

An unknown man entered Zeng’s 99 Cent Store located at 7417 Stenton Ave. on July 13, at approximately 5:05 p.m., police said.

The man wandered around the store as if he was shopping, police said.  This continued for several minutes until the man pulled a handgun at the store employee working behind the register.

The man with the handgun demanded money from the cash register, police said.

The store employee gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, and the man ran from the store heading west on East Johnson Street.

Description: Black male, 18-22 years old, measuring between 5 feet 7 inches-5 feet 8 inches tall, dark complexion, wearing a white T-shirt, light colored blue jeans and white sneakers.

If you see this man, police advise that you do not approach him, contact 911 immediately.
