Bird Walk in Carpenter's Woods with Keith Russell

Join Friends of Carpenter's Woods and Audubon birding expert, Keith Russell, for a Bird Walk in Carpenter's Woods.
This is prime time for spotting colorful, migrating warblers and other birds as they stop over on their journey south. Carpenter's Woods is a favorite stop-over for many migrants, including black-throated blue, magnolia, parula, blackburnian, yellow-rumped, and black & white warblers, red-eyed vireos, flycatchers, kinglets, thrushes, and brown creepers. Keith will help you learn how to spot and identify these beautiful birds by their coloring, size, behaviors, and songs. Come out and see why Carpenter's Woods was established as Philadelphia's First Bird Sanctuary!

Keith Russell is a life-long birder, who grew up in Mount Airy. He spent many years learning about and observing birds in the Wissahickon Valley and Carpenter's Woods, in particular. He is currently Audubon Pennsylvania's Outreach Coordinator for Philadelphia and an active member of Friends of Carpenter's Woods.
