Main Replacement to Continue for Two Weeks

Drivers and pedestrians both need to use caution on Chestnut Hill Avenue as PGW replaces a gas main for the next two weeks.

The Philadelphia Gas Works continues to work on Chestnut Hill Avenue limiting access to the sidewalk as you approach Seminole Street.

PGW is replacing the gas main as part of routine infrastructure maintenance and upkeep.

A spokesperson for PGW said the project will continue for the next two weeks, and workers will be at the scene from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Workers have blocked off parts of the sidewalk, and in some parts, wooden beams cover holes in the sidewalk that PGW has dug.

If you're walking or driving in the area please be wary of drivers and other pedestrians.
