K. is captivated by the "art of eating" and pays homage to the genesis of her infatuation with a toast to M.F.K. Fischer, whose book The Art of Eating presents this notion in such a way that exquisitely preserves all of the magic therein.

Equipped with a practiced palette and a genuine passion for cooking and dining K. has honed her knowledge of food, wine and the art of serving with stops at Brassiere Perrier, Le Bec Fin, Meritage, Morimoto, Mr. Martino’s, Pod, Striped Bass, and her Philadelphia debut more than a decade ago at Judy Wick’s White Dog Café.

She has worked amid some of Philadelphia’s significant talents in its restaurant landscape: Anne Coll, Michele DiPietro, Jeremy Ducult, Terrence Feury, Shazad Khan, Kevin Klause, Irene Landy, Jonathan McDonald, Mrs. Martino, Masaharu Morimoto, Jon Myerow, Georges Perrier, Chris Scarduzio, Michael Schulson, Michael Solomonov, Stephen Starr, Neil Stein and legions of others.

After finishing her degree in history of art at the University of Pennsylvania, K. began her career as a fundraiser in the nonprofit sector. Currently, she spends her free time with her husband and two toddlers in their home kitchen—making starter which has resulted in gorgeous crusty rustic loaves, hand cut fettuccine so delicate and delicious that all it requires is a drizzle of olive oil, chicken stew with dumplings (no Bisquick here), and kale so creamy that her 2-year-old declares it his favorite meal ever.

While K. still enjoys spending time in the restaurant scene, she has moved on from The Art of Eating to The Joy of Cooking—with thanks this time paid to Irma Rombauer.
