ReplyThe parents at Loomis are MAD. Mr Peters is not only a fabulous teacher who actually cares and loves our kids - but he brings originality and fun to the classroom every day, he is a positive male role model, he has helped our kids and has definitely brought out the best in them - and our school. I'm afraid of what will happen to the Loomis spirit without Mr Peters. You don't take away the stars - especially one of the brightest ones we have!!! We're mad and we won't let Mr Peters go without a fight!

ReplyCatcher in the Rye. I believe that was required reading for me in 10th grade... That book had the power to change teenagers. I remember people idolized Holden Caulfield. I recently re-read it as a grown woman and mother - and wow. I forgot about the drinking, sex issues, prostitute and just in general - I found it impossible to like a character that people idolized when I was a teenager. I love Water for Elephants - great book - but I don't see how it even compares to the power of Holden Caulfield - and surely that isn't banned...or is it?

ReplyTwo boys - one loves to buy a costume every year. This year is no different and we had to go on ebay to find a how to train your dragon costume that is out of stock everywhere. Peter - my oldest loves homemade costumes. He has been a Wii Remote, a head on a table, Luigi (homemade), and an astronaut with space shuttle. This year he wants to be a kid in a cage...being carried by a scary pumpkin head figure. It's going to be a challenge...and he wants it complete with lights and sound. But it's fun - we do it together as a family.
