The Chestnut Hill Academy senior has been accepted to Brown University.
Editor’s Note: ‘Whiz Kid’ is a new weekly feature in which Patch will be honoring local children or teens for their accomplishments. This week’s “Whiz Kid” is Corbin Booker, a senior at Chestnut Hill Academy. Accomplishment: Corbin has succeeded in various aspects of life. He’s a member of the high school Duke lacrosse club that has won a national championship for the past five years in a row. The club is made up of students from the Delaware Valley. Corbin also participates in social justice issues with other local teens. He worked as a peer facilitator at the Student Diversity Leadership Conference in California last year. The eighth grader at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy brought "Reach Out and Read," a program benefiting underprivileged children, to her school.

This week’s “Whiz Kid” is Christine Sedlack, an eighth grader at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy. Accomplishment: Brought the “Reach Out and Read” program to her school, where she is also student council president. Reach Out and Read is a program at Children's Hopsital of Philadelphia that seeks to collect books for underprivileged children in Philly and beyond. Children benefit by being given donated books every time they have to go to their doctor's office for a checkup.
