Leaving Patch: Thank You, Mt. Airy

The time has come for me to say goodbye.

After almost two years as the editor of Mt. Airy Patch, the time has come for me to say goodbye. I'm leaving the country for a little while—I'm headed to China before hopefully going to graduate school next fall. My last day is Friday. I can honestly say that it's been fun. There's always plenty going on in Mt. Airy, regardless of how it may seem on a night by night basis. It was exciting to be at the forefront of a veritable explosion, in relative terms, of hyperlocal news in Northwest Philadelphia. With Newsworks, the Chestnut Hill Local and the Mt. Airy Independent also doing heavy lifting, there was never a shortage of coverage. I hope we've been able to fill an important gap somewhere in the middle of all of that. But it's not like …
