Even A Frugal Family Can Go Skiing

Municipalities offer discount tickets.

Does all this snow have you thinking about skiing? There are ways to play in the white stuff without having to give up too much green. You can find deals before you head to the slopes and strap on your skis. Many municipalities’ parks and recreation departments offer discount ski tickets. You can also find discounts directly from some ski resorts in the Poconos:

Also, if you have a child in 4th grade, you can go to SKIPA.com and they can get a snow pass for the year at several mountains in the area. Spring Mountain offers its own season pass for 4th grader. All you need is to bring their report card and for $55 they ski for the entire season and have 2 free rentals and 1 free lesson.
