Man Beaten with Handgun on Stenton Ave., Police Say

An argument escalates when the two men involved step outside.

Aggravated Assault: On March 2, at approximately 9:40 p.m., police received a report of an aggravated assault in the 6400 block of Stenton Ave.  According to police, the victim was arguing inside with the offender, and the victim asked the offender to go outside and talk.  When the two men got outside, police say that the offender pulled out a handgun and started to hit the victim in the face with it.

Undisclosed Cash Stolen in Bank Robbery

The FBI is looking for help finding a man though to be connected to a Northwest bank robbery Thursday.

The FBI has released the following statement and photos in connection to Thursday's bank robbery of the Citizen's Bank at the corner of Stenton Avenue and Washington Lane. From the FBI: At approximately 2:30 p.m., the subject entered the bank, and handed a teller a note demanding money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area. The subject is described as a male in his 30s, 6’2” tall, thick build, with a short beard. He wore a tan jacket, blue jeans, and a tan winter hat with colored stripes on the trim. Police: Two Gunpoint Robberies Take Place on Stenton Avenue

One involved one assailant and the other involved three.

Two gunpoint robberies took place on Stenton Avenue within the past week or so. Here's what happened in both instances: - Police said a woman was standing at a bus stop on the 7100 block of Stenton Avenue on Friday at about 8:30 p.m. when a man she didn't know pointed a gun at her and told her: "Give me everything you've got or I'll kill you." The woman gave the man her pocketbook and cell phone, and the man fled on West Mt. Pleasant Avenue on foot. The man was wearing a mask and the woman said she wasn't sure what type of gun he was brandishing, according to police.
