'Love Your Park' Hits the Northwest

A city-wide celebration of parks is coming to the Chestnut Hill - Mt. Airy area.

Lovers of the urban outdoors, rejoice. A number of Roxborough and Manayunk-area parks will be part of Love Your Park, a city-wide celebration of the city's parks and public spaces. The week-long celebration, which kicks off on May 11, will feature "service projects, fun events, educational programs, family activities, tours and more at over 100 parks throughout Philadelphia," according to its website. Philly Has 'America's Best Coffee Shop'

One list has a Philly spot as the country's best, but what is your favorite in the Northwest?

Philadelphia has the best coffee shops, at least according to one list. Daily Meal released its list of “America’s Best Coffee Shops”  and a number of Philadelphia-area shops made the list. Ultimo, in South Philadelphia, topped the list, but other nearby locations like Town Hall Coffee in Merion Station also made the list. Check out their full list here. That’s all well and good, but what’s the best place to get a cup of coffee in the Northwest? According to Yelp.com, the two highest-rated coffee shops in the Chestnut Hill – Mt. Airy area are Chestnut Hill Coffee Company and the High Point Café. Patch wants to get to know the owners of Goat Hollow, one of Mt. Airy's newest restaurants. Meet one of the owners of this neighborhood restaurant below. Name: Andy Shahan Co-Owner of: Goat Hollow. The other owner is Neil Campbell.  Year Established: Jan. 21, 2013. The original Goat Hollow Tavern closed in 2004, after 17 years of business. Goat Hollow to Feature Passover Menu Items

Mt. Airy's Goat Hollow will feature Passover items this week.

In observence of Passover, Goat Hollow in Mt. Airy will feature special menu items for the holy week. According to Goat Hollow's Facebook page, they featured Matzoball and cabbage soups on Monday night and Chef Glickman's "Bubbe's brisket" is available Tuesday. View their full menu here.
