Second Former Black Olive Owner Could Plead Guilty

A Newsworks report documents the possibility.

The second owner of the former Black Olive Restaurant could plead guilty to federal charges that allege he stole charter school funding to help pay for the ill-fated restaurant. Hugh C. Clark could do so, according to a Newsworks report, which quotes court documents that say he's looking at changing his previous "not guilty" plea. His former business partner, Ina M. Walker, has already pleaded guilty and agreed to testify against Clark. The two were indicted on federal charges last April for allegedly defrauding the charter school they operated in Cedarbrook. The former Black Olive property at 22-24 E. Mt. Airy Ave., meanwhile, remains vacant after a June fire there. To read the full report, click here.
