'Final-ly Friday' to Replace First Friday Next Month

Artists will showcase their work and businesses will offer deals.

First Friday is over in Mt. Airy. It has, instead, been replaced by "Final-ly Friday," a neighborhood effort that will encourage people to support area businesses, look at art and generally be out and about in Mt. Airy on the last Friday of each month. The newly formed Business Association of Mt. Airy's Promotions Committee unanimously voted to turn First Friday into Final Friday. Mt. Airy USA Director of Commercial Corridor Revitalization Elizabeth Moselle said the organization, which is being administered by Mt. Airy USA, wanted to distinguish its Friday efforts from those in a place like Old City, for example (which has always celebrated First Friday). Local artists will participate in the event, and Moselle said artists from outside …
