Chestnut Hill Hospital is not messing around in trying to promote itself. The area hospital has an extensive ad campaign lined up, including the continued publication of its two magazines. There are adds on SEPTA buses and at stops promoting the hospital's services. According to Dr. John D. Cacciamani, the hospital's semi-new CEO, over 50,000 households will receive materials from the hospital three times in 2013. For all it's efforts to grow, however, Cacciamani says that the hospital's main area of interest is a place near by: Mt. Airy. "We've made a lot of progress, but we want to grow here," he said. Chestnut Hill Hospital (CHH) employees collected turkeys and all the trimmings needed to make a Thanksgiving feast for 40 local families. Bountiful baskets were given to four area parishes – Holy Cross and St. Madeline Sophie in Mt Airy, and St. Benedict and St. Vincent in Germantown – for distribution to families in need of a little extra support this holiday season.

The hospitals were among 620 hospitals recognized by the Joint Commission.
Chestnut Hill Hospital in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, Paoli Memorial Hospital in Paoli and Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media were named among the nation’s Top Performers on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, an accreditor for health care organizations. They were among 620 hospitals recognized across the country as being top performers. Other hospitals in Philadelphia named to the list were Friends Behavioral Health System and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. The operating rooms are part of the hospital's expansion opening next month.
While the opening of the Chestnut Hill Hospital expansion is still nearly six weeks away, Chestnut Hill Patch got the sneak peek last week of what’s going to be inside. One of the notable aspects of the expansion is a new operating room suite. Chestnut Hill Hospital CEO John Cacciamani describes each operating room as “huge” and state-of-the-art. “The best way to describe them to the average person, is that when I take surgeons in to look at it- whether it’s our surgeons or ones we’re trying to recruit- they all say, ‘Oh my, this is great,’” Cacciamani said. The emergency room expansion of Chestnut Hill Hospital will be open Oct. 20.
With just a little more than a month left until the Chestnut Hill Hospital emergency room expansion opens, hospital CEO John Cacciamani’s excitement is palpable as he talks details of the layout. With 22 private rooms in the emergency room- instead of curtained patient areas- the expansion offers visitors privacy, convenience, and above all, Cacciamani said, safety and quality. Here’s a look into what the emergency room will hold: The emergency room expansion will host a community day Oct. 20, and will officially be in use starting Oct. 22.
