Purse Snatching, Car Theft, according to Police

Purse Snatching: A resident reported that her purse was snatched while walking in East Mt. Airy, according to a release from the Philadelphia Police Department. According to reports, an area resident told police that she was walking east on Phil Ellena street at approximately 6 p.m. on Dec 17 when an unknown man approached her and forcefully took her purse. The woman reported that $50 in items and cash were in the purse at the time of theft. The man, described by police as approximately 5'8" and thin, ran toward Crittenden Street. He was last seen wearing dark cloths and a knit cap.
