Police arrested a Philadelphia man when he allegedly tried to break in to a Mt. Airy home, according to a report from the Philadelphia Police Department. Police responded to a call on the 100 block of W Washington Lane and allegedly heard the man attempting to break window bars to access the basement. Police on the scene reportedly heard the man enter the house before calling in requests for additional support. K9 units found the man in the house and, after a short chase through the nearby neighborhood, SWAT teams apprehended the man. Charges against the man have not been released.

Over $10,000 in copper piping was stolen from Chestnut Hill on Sept. 18, according to a release from the Philadelphia Police Department. According to reports, police responded to two separate incidents of reported theft on the 18th: one the 8000 block of Germantown Avenue when a resident complained that their copper drain pipes had been stolen, and a second at 8000 block of Germantown Avenue when 10 copper drain pipes were reported stolen. Police advise resident to be mindful of similar incidents.

The following information is provided by the 14th district of the Philadelphia Police Department: Stolen Plastic Chairs: an unknown person stole three plastic chairs from the front yard of a house on the 1300 block of E Rittenhouse Street sometime between 6 p.m. and midnight on Sept. 15. Stolen Tire: An unknown person removed the right rear tire from a 2010 Buick Lcrosse on the 6300 block of Homer Street on Sept. 16. Stolen Phone: an unknown person allegedly broke into a car parked on the 500 block of W Sedgwick Street and stole a cell phone on Sept. 16. Stolen Bank Card: A woman reported that her boyfriend stole her bank card from her purse on Sept. 14 and never returned it. Police advised the woman to change her bank information. Stolen…

A laptop and watch were reported stolen from a house on the 300 block of High Street, according to a release from the 14th Philadelphia Police District. According to reports, an unknown number of people broke the glass to the back door of the house sometime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sept. 15. Police also found a TV left at the back door of the house upon investigation. A neighbor reported hearing a female voice say "What are you doing? Come on," during the alleged theft. The total value of the stolen items is estimated to be nearly $400.
