Burglars Strike Home on Bass Street, Police Say

A woman comes home from work to find her home ransacked.

A woman returned from work on April 30 to find her television and kindle stolen and her home in the 6700 block of Bass Street ransacked, police said. The resident left her home at 5:30 a.m., and when she returned home, her back door had been forced open and several items, valued at $700, were missing, police said.  Police were able to take four fingerprints at the scene from a change jar in the bedroom, but anyone with more information is asked to contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s 14th District at 215-686-3140.

Gym Teacher's Laptop Stolen, Police Say

A television is also stolen in a separate police report.

Theft: On April 30, at approximately 12:06 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the 7500 block of Germantown Avenue.  According to police, a gym teacher at Parkway High School left his bag in the gym unattended, and when he returned to the bag, his laptop had been stolen. Burglary: On April 29, at approximately 9 p.m., police received a report of a burglary in the 200 block of East Phil Ellena Street.  According to police, the resident left his home, and when he returned his front door had been forced open.  Police said that several items had been stolen from the location including a computer and a flat screen television.

$10,000 In Jewelry Stolen from Kitchen Drawer, Police Say

A woman's bicycle is also stolen.

Theft: On April 29, at approximately 7:45 a.m., police received a report of a theft in the unit block of Pelham Road.  According to police, the homeowner put several pieces of jewelry in a cup in the kitchen drawer where she always keeps them, and then she went to bed.  Police said that when she awoke the next morning to put on the jewelry it was gone.  The home has keyless entry, police said, and there was no sign of forced entry.  Several family members know the code, police said.  The stolen items consist of three rings that police valued at $10,000. Man Hits Woman in Head with Gun, Police Say

Two recycling bins are also stolen.

Aggravated Assault: On April 28, at approximately 11:50 a.m., police received a report of an assault in the 800 block of East Vernon Road.  According to police, a woman got into a verbal disagreement with a man who then pulled out a gun and hit her in the head with it several times. Burglary: On April 26, at approximately 7:18 p.m., police received a report of a burglary in the 6700 block of Musgrave Street.  According to police, the resident came home to find the side window of her home broken.  Nothing was stolen from the home except a few items of clothing. Vodka Stolen in Mt. Airy, Police Say

Theft: On April 26, at approximately 8:15 p.m., police received a report of a theft at the Pennsylvania Wine and Spirits Store located at 7204 Germantown Ave.  According to police, a man walked into the store, grabbed two bottles of vodka and then left without paying. Theft: On April 26, at approximately 3 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the 6300 block of Greene Street.  According to police, a woman got off the “H” bus and was walking down the street when a man came up to her and snatched her cell phone out of her hand.  Police say that the man then ran down the street away from the scene. Woman Cut, Bound with Shoelaces, Police Say

A man is also shot with a BB gun.

Aggravated Assault: On April 19, police received a report of an assault at the intersection of Morton and Duval Streets at approximately 5:59 p.m.  According to police, a man claimed that he had been shot in the right arm with a BB Gun.  Police saw no signs of visible injury. Aggravated Assault: On April 20, at approximately 11 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the 6300 block of Germantown Ave.  According to police, a woman was at a party, when two fellow party-goers accused the woman of stealing money.  Police say the two people then kicked and punched the woman and then tried to tie her up with shoelaces.  The two people then cut the woman’s right cheek with a knife, police say, and she was told to take a shower and change …

Man Threatened with Knife on Germantown, Police Say

A woman's Nintendo Wii is also stolen.

Aggravated Assault: On April 16, at approximately 10:10 p.m., police received a report of an assault at the intersection of Johnson Street and Germantown Avenue.  According to police, a man got into a verbal altercation with another man.  Police say the other man grabbed a knife, held to the man’s face and threatened to stab him. Theft: On April 12, at approximately 12 a.m., police received a report of a theft in the unit block of East Pleasant Street.  According to police, a woman had several friends over at her house, and woke up the next morning several items had been taken.  The stolen items included a Nintendo Wii, a mobile phone and $200 cash.

Woman Hit With Chair at Dunkin' Donuts, Police Say

Two televisions and a laptop are taken in a separate police report.

Burglary: On April 14, at approximately 1:05 a.m., police received a report of a theft in the 6300 block of Burbridge Street.  According to police, a burglar gained access to the home through the dining room window and removed two flat screen televisions and one laptop computer. Aggravated Assault: On April 14, at approximately 6 a.m., police received a report of an assault at the Dunkin’ Donuts located at 8113 Stenton Ave.  According to police, a man came into the store and began spitting at a woman.  When the woman tried to push the man out of the store he hit her in the arm with a metal chair.

$134 in Groceries Stolen, Police Say

A man also gives his PIN number to his girlfriend, then calls the police.

Theft: On April 12, at approximately 6:40 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the 6300 block of McCallum Street.  According to police, a man allowed his girlfriend to hold his “access card,” and the man gave his girlfriend his PIN number.  Police say that the man now has $200 missing, but he also refused to give police the name of his girlfriend or a description. Theft: On April 14, at approximately 12:28 p.m., police received a report of a theft at the PathMark located at 7700 Crittenden Street.  According to police, a woman was observed leaving the store with a cart full of items without paying for them.  The stolen items included motor oil, a mousetrap, antifreeze and tomatoes.  Police value the items stolen at $134.

Mink Coat Stolen from Home, Police Say

More than $14,000 in items are stolen from a home.

Burglary: On April 12, at approximately 9:45 p.m., police received a report of a theft in the 900 block of Woodbrook Lane.  According to police, the homeowner returned to discover a burglary at her house.  Police say that the rear kitchen security and main doors had been pried open.  The two upstairs bedrooms were also ransacked, and, police say, several items were taken.  The stolen items included a laptop and a mink coat.  Police value the stolen items at $14,500.
