West Mount Airy Neighbors is a neighborhood association whose mission is to preserve West Mount Airy residents' quality of life.
It runs various committees that meet periodically. Its Quality of Life Committee holds meetings on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm at Summit Presbyterian Church, and its Streetscapes Committee administers the planting of trees and works to preserve the neighborhood's natural environment.
Its Zoning Committee normally meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm at Summit Presbyterian Church.
According to its Web site, the association was founded in 1959 as an effort to "create and sustain West Mt. Airy as a racially integrated community."
Its Web site also features an extensive community calendar and links that provide residents information about their elected officials, train schedules and more.
