SEPTA Providing Additional Service to Eagles' Playoff Game

SEPTA will also host pre-game festivities at Lincoln Financial Field.

SEPTA submitted the following news release:

SEPTA joins the Delaware Valley in “Going Green” in support of the Philadelphia Eagles in their first battle of the 2013 NFL postseason. Area residents and fans can count on SEPTA for extra service for speedy travel to the game, extra fun while at the stadium, and extra opportunities to root for the team on Social Media. 

“The Eagles’ 2014 Season has been a story of renewal and redemption,” said SEPTA General Manager Joseph M. Casey, who added “we at SEPTA have been rooting for them all the way, and we’re proud to do our part to support the team & fans in the post season.”

• Additional Service to Saturday’s Game
The Birds are scheduled to kick off against the Saints at 8:10 p.m. SEPTA will have its own kickoff at 5:48pm with the first of 14 special SPORTS EXPRESS departures to Lincoln Financial Field on the Broad Street Line. Running in addition to regularly scheduled local train service; SPORTS EXPRESS trains make express stops at Fern Rock, Olney, Erie, Spring Garden, Race-Vine, City Hall, and Walnut-Locust Stations on their way to AT&T Station, directly adjacent to Lincoln Financial Field.

Additional trains will also be added to the Market Frankford Line, where passengers can make a free connection to the Broad Street Line at 15th Street Station. Regional Rail Line Riders can make easy connections to the line at Fern Rock and Suburban Stations. After the game, fans will find trains waiting for them at AT&T station to speed their rides home.

• iSEPTAPhilly Pre-Game at Lincoln Financial Field
For fans that arrive early at Lincoln Financial Field, the iSEPTAPhilly promotional team will be on hand for pre-game rally festivities. Stop by our booth to pose for pictures to post on social media and for a chance to practice their own “touchdown throws” in the exclusive Bus Toss Game. Winners will be eligible to receive special SEPTA “Ride-It” T-Shirts and other special prizes.

• Showing support for the team on Social Media
In the lead-up to the big game, be sure to look out for specially-wrapped vehicles on SEPTA Bus Lines, Regional Rail Trains, and the Broad Street Line that are distinctively covered with pro-Eagles messages including “The world’s greatest fans ride these trains.” Show your team spirit by sharing pictures of the vehicles online with the hash tag #iseptaphilly for a possible re-tweet by the @septa_social team to hundreds of fans across the region.
