Free Concert: There will be a free concert Friday at 7 p.m. at the Mt Airy Train Station located at 7423 Devon St., Philadelphia.  Here's how organizers describe the concert: "The last concert of the season at the Mt. Airy Train Station will be a duo aptly named the Last Chance, consisting of singer/songwriter Jack Scott on five string banjo and guitar and classically trained violinist Ingrid Rosenback on fiddle. They perform folk, bluegrass, and original songs. Dress warm, bring a blanket or lawn chair and come join the fun. This is an outdoor concert - rain dates is Saturday  October 26 same time and place. Halloween Hikes and HayridesThe Schuylkill Center is hosting Halloween Hikes and Hayrides on Friday and Saturday night this week.  Here's how they describe them: Take a magical walk through woods aglow with jack-o-lanterns, where you'll meet friendly talking animals eager to share their nocturnal ways.  Enjoy a hayride along a woodland road, a campfire, s'mores, and pumpkin painting, too.  Don't miss this unique family-favorite—a Schuylkill Center tradition.

Event runs Friday, October 25 and  Saturday, October 26,6:00 -10:00 pm each night. $10/person (Schuylkill members $7); $40 max per family (Hayride included)

Halloween in Germantown: Historic Germantown Halloween Harvest.  Join Historic Germantown and 6 member sites for a day of coordinated free, fall programming.

  • 10am-3pm Awbury Arboretum, 1 Awbury Rd: Orchard tours, hayrides, beekeeping demo, family GIS scavenger hunt.
  • 10am-2pm Historic Fair Hill, 2901 Germantown Ave at Cambria St.: Campfire sing-a-long and fall crafts
  • 12pm-3pm Hood Cemetery, 4901 Germantown Ave: Explore the oldest secular cemetery in Philadelphia and hear some stories about the folks who reside here!
  • 1pm-4pm Stenton, 4601 N. 18th St: La Salle Art Museum joins La Salle for pumpkin painting, fall crafts, and tours of the Haunted Logan Mansion.
  • 3pm-6pm Grumblethorpe, 5267 Germantown Ave: Scarecrow-making, house and garden tours and refreshments.
