Why Go: From the organizers: "Skyline - the neighborhoods newest, and youngest, band will perform a free concert on Friday August 23, from 7-9 p.m. as part of the Mt. Airy Train Station Free Concert Series. This band consisting of L. to R. in picture, Henry McDevitt, Matthew Overholser, Jackson Craig, and Graham Arms, half from Mt. Airy and half from Chestnut Hill, will be joined by special guest, Gabriel Garcia Leeds. They will be performing original tunes likeShivers, as well as covers. Why Go: From the organizers: "The route will take us through gorgeous shady woods and a breezy meadow. Learn about horses in the park, the history of the Monastery Mansion and Stables, and steps taken to protect the environment. We will follow the White Trail on our return to the historic Monastery Mansion and Stables. Difficulty: brisk pace along rough, steep terrain with stops to talk. Distance: 3 miles along the Orange trail between Kitchen's Lane and Mount Airy Ave. Be prepared to scramble over rocky outcrops and logs. Children are welcome with adult supervision; dogs on leash are welcome. Meet at the parking lot at the bottom of Kitchen’s Lane in West Mt. Airy."

Why Go: From the organizers: "Healthy Chocolate Demo in Chestnut Hill – On Saturday, August 24, from 12-4, Gina Ferragame will be serving free samples of Xocai Healthy Chocolate made of raw cacao and acai berry at the newly renovated Diamond Spa, 8430 Germantown Avenue in Chestnut Hill. Ferragame will talk one-on-one about the benefits of Xocai chocolate over regular chocolate. The public is welcome to stop by and there is no need to RSVP.
