Go for a Hike

Where/When: Saturday, August 17, 2013, 9:30 a.m., Cedars House, Forbidden Drive and Northwestern Ave.

Why Go: From the organizers: "The east ridge above the Wissahickon (Chestnut Hill side) and the west ridge (Roxborough side) top surprisingly different forests. This will be a 3.5 mile stroll reaching both ridge tops and enjoying how different the terrain is and how different Wissahickon Creek looks from either side. We will take a leisurely pace, and our paths are sometimes rocky trails up and down hills, but not terribly arduous. Children, accompanied by a responsible adult, are welcome so long as they can manage themselves, the trails, the hills, and needs of other walkers. Wear sturdy boots or shoes. Dress for the weather. Bring at least one liter of water. Meet at The Cedars House at the upper end of Forbidden Drive and Northwestern Ave."
