Saturday Brings Hounds to Highland for Annual Event

The Bone Appetite hosts their annual Hound on Highland adoption event May 14.

Dog-lovers unite once a year for Hounds on Highland in Chestnut Hill. Saturday, May 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the event returns to . The annual event has adoptable dogs coming from all over the Greater Philadelphia Area, as well as representatives from several rescue agencies.

The event will feature more than a dozen dogs available for adoption that will be there to meet. Representatives from the PSPCA, PAWS,  the Golden Retriever Rescue and the Lab Rescue will be there to talk about their available pets as well.

“It’s a big event that we have every year,” said Betsy Olix, owner of . “We were supposed to have it on April 23, but it was rained out.”

Even if you are not looking for a new pet, there are plenty of reasons for current dog-owners to stop by. In addition to seeing the furry faces of those looking for a home, there will be other goodies for those who already have a hound at home.

“There will be some food companies, dog and cat food companies, giving out food samples and advice to those who want it,” Olix said.

In addition, anyone who adopts a pet at the event will receive 20 percent off an entire purchase at The Bone Appetite.

The event will run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at The Bone Appetite, 8505 Germantown Ave.
