Meals on Wheels Appeals to Chestnut Hill

For the third year, the Chestnut Hill organization asks neighbors to consider donating during the holiday season.

While neighbors are spending quality time with family and friends during the holidays, (CHMOW) is asking them to remember those who do not have that option.

During Thanksgiving, CHMOW was delivering homemade dinners to their clients- senior citizens who lack the ability to shop and cook for themselves and family to do it for them.

, and for the last three years, CHMOW has made an appeal to the community to pitch in with a donation to keep the wheels turning.

“Your gift will make a difference in the life of someone in need,” the CHMOW Board of Directors wrote in its holiday season appeal.

The board also wrote of the volunteers, and the relationships that are made with each client.

“One client keeps a small basket of lollipops for children who deliver food with their parent. Another hangs the artwork a preschooler—one of our youngest ‘volunteers’—brings him on his refrigerator,” the appeal said.  “Countless anecdotes like these illustrate the enduring impact of CHMOW, the important role we play in the community, and underscore our basic mission and greatest success.”
