Former Eagles wide receiver Fred Barnett was in a good mood Wednesday morning as he gave pointers to the six- to 14-year-olds at the Eagles Youth Football Camp taking place the week of July 25 at .

"I actually like teaching kids a little more than I like playing football. The football is just a means to get together with them and teach them characteristics like discipline and hard work," Barnett said. "Those aren't just things you need to succeed at football. Those are lessons you learn to be successful at life."

The camp is a week-long program, which ends Friday, July 29, with a final game and an awards ceremony. There are 35 students enrolled in the Springside camp.
