The Chestnut Hill Academy Blue Devils lost 26-7 on Saturday night at Northeast High School. The Blue Devils never quite found their rhythm in a tough season opener.
IN SHORT
In the opening possession, Germantown marched down the field, scoring on a 2 yard rushing touchdown from their running back. The Blue Devils managed to halt the two point conversion, but could not gather any offensive attack. The Eagles would score once more in the first, pushing the deficit to 13 after one quarter of play.

The second quarter was more of the same from Chestnut Hill. While their offense stalled, the defense could not slow down the Eagles' offensive attack, allowing for an additional two touchdowns.
Trailing 26-0 after halftime, the Blue Devils would finally get into a rhythm on both ends of the ball. The defense came through with a number of third down stops and the offense put together a few long drives, culminating in 3 yard rushing touchdown from quarterback Michael Hayes.

BLUE DEVIL OF THE GAME-
Michael Hayes- The quarterback bounced his way down the field for a 37 yard carry. He would later add the Blue Devils only touchdown of the game.
OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES
Cedric Madden- The running back converted a number of first downs and spearheaded some key drives for the Blue Devils.
Bob Keyes- Keyes, a wide receiver, made two big first down receptions in the second quarter.
COACH'S TAKE- "We made a lot of mistakes. Not much went our way in the first half, except for a few solid drives. We need to get better as the season moves on."- Head Coach Rick Knox
THEY SAID IT- "Our goal coming out of halftime was to win the second half, but we didn't meet our expectations. A lot of players had a strong half performance. Cedric Madden put together a few nice runs."
