Whiz Kid: Corbin Booker

The Chestnut Hill Academy senior has been accepted to Brown University.

Editor’s Note: ‘Whiz Kid’ is a new weekly feature in which Patch will be honoring local children or teens for their accomplishments.

This week’s “Whiz Kid” is Corbin Booker, a senior at Chestnut Hill Academy.

Accomplishment: Corbin has succeeded in various aspects of life. He’s a member of the high school Duke lacrosse club that has won a national championship for the past five years in a row. The club is made up of students from the Delaware Valley.

Corbin also participates in social justice issues with other local teens. He worked as a peer facilitator at the Student Diversity Leadership Conference in California last year.

Next year, Corbin will attend Brown University where he hopes to study media broadcasting.

Key to Awesomeness: We’ll let his mother, Stephanie Royal Booker, a Chestnut Hill Academy teacher, give you the response to that one:

“Corbin is a young man of integrity, he leads by example and he understands his responsibility to make the world a better place. Even though he’s my son, he’s the most generous person I know. He’s so kind and good.”

Know a great kid who made Eagle Scout or did your local soccer team take the championship? They may be our next Patch Whiz Kid honoree.

Each week, Chestnut Hill Patch will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens, and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens and select one each week as the Patch Whiz Kid.
