Philly.com: Archdiocese Recommends Our Mother of Consolation Merges, Remains Open

The Archdiocese is announcing the full list of closings and merging schools at 4 p.m. Friday.

According to a list released by Philly.com, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will recommend closing or merging 44 Catholic elementary schools and five high schools.

While is not on the list of recommended closings, Mt. Airy's Holy Cross may be mergins with the school, on E. Chestnut Hill Avenue.

The full report of finding from the Archdiocese Blue Ribbon Commission will be announced at a press conference at 4 p.m. Friday.

Holy Cross was on a list of Archdiocese schools in the region with low enrollment, according to a MyFoxPhilly list, with only 175 students in the school.
