Notebook Publishes List of Possible School Closings, Some in the Northwest

AMY Northwest and Parkway Northwest would move, if the list comes into action.

The Philadelphia Public School Notebook has published a confidential list of schools the School District of Philadelphia may be planning to close last year.

The report emphasizes that the list is by no means final. But according to the report, and would be relocated to the current William Levering School building in Roxborough (since the leases at the two schools are now up). Levering, which is at 6000 Ridge Ave., would then close, and its students would be relocated to Cook-Wissahickon and Dobson schools.

A portion of would be demolished (since the school is currently too big for its enrollment), and the K-5 section of Roosevelt Middle School would be taken away (and some of those students would be fed into ).
