The Germantown Bears football team lost to Emmaus 35-12 on Friday night at home. The Bears kept it close in the first half, but the Emmaus Hornets dominated the second half of play.
IN SHORT
The first quarter was a stalemate with both teams vying for field position. Germantown's defense induced a three and out series to begin and the game and kept the ball out of the endzone in the first quarter. However, Emmaus would grab the lead with a march down the field, culminating in a 3-yard touchdown run. The Bears would quickly return the favor with a 15-yard rushing touchdown from Ackeno Robertson. Germantown could not convert the extra point, trailing 7-6 going into halftime.

The second half started out poorly for the Bears. Emmaus would score 28 unanswered points to take a 35-6 lead well into the fourth quarter. However, Germantown would answer back with quarterback Cedric Wright connection on a 22 yard touchdown pass to Myles Brooker.

Cedric Wright: The quarterback accounted for one of the Bears touchdowns and converted on fourth down in the third quarter to give Germantown life.
OTHER KEY PERFORMANCES
Ackeno Robertson: The running back continuously fought his way through the game, culminating in a 15 yard rushing touchdown.
William Parks: The senior converted a number of first downs, including a 30-yard reception.
