Spring Speaker Series: Kenneth Ginsburg, M.D., M.S.Ed.

FUTURE READY:
Raising resilient children and young adults

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy is pleased to host two renowned thought leaders in the field of childhood education and development to foster conversation around raising responsible, resilient children and young adults. Come be inspired. Leave with new ideas and resources.

The first in our dynamite line-up for the spring is Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg, M.D., M.S.Ed., CHOP Behavioral Science Investigator.

Dr. Ginsburg will present, "Resilience in Action: Raising Authentically Successful Children and Adolescents."

Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg is a pediatrician specializing in Adolescent Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The theme that ties together his clinical practice, teaching, research, and advocacy is that of building on the strength of teenagers by fostering their internal resilience. He works to translate the best of what is known from research and practice into practical approaches that parents, professionals, and communities can use to build resilience. His first book, But I’m Almost Thirteen: An Action Plan to Raise a Responsible Adolescent, focused on parent-child communication. The American Academy of Pediatrics published two of his books, A Parent’s Guide to Building Resilience in Children and Teens: Giving Your Child Roots and Wings and Less Stress, More Success, which focuses on getting into college while remaining socially and emotionally balanced. A national and international lecturer, Ginsburg also serves as Medical Director of Covenant House, Pennsylvania, a care system that serves homeless, street and marginalized youth in Philadelphia.
