Famous Chestnut Hill Resident Sells Home

You won't see many wine cellars like this one.

It’s been on the market since 2011, but George Perrier’s Chestnut Hill home is finally off the market.

The famous chef and restauranteur told Phillymag.com this week that the home has sold.

Perrier bought the house at 8872 Towanda Ave. in January 2008 for $2.35 million, according to property records.

This has been quite a month for Perrier. Le Bec-Fin, arguably Philadelphia’s most famous restaurant, closed earlier this month, Perrier actually sold the French restaurant in 2012, but it reopened again with the same name and look under new management.

Only a couple months ago, Perrier stepped down from the management of his new bakery project, the Art of Bread in Narberth, which still carries his name on its website.
