Voter ID Hearing Upcoming, Rally Planned

A gathering is planned for Thursday.

There will be a state Supreme Court hearing on Thursday that will concern Voter ID issues. 

The hearing will be at 9:30 a.m. According to PennLive, it will be televised on Pennsylvania Cable Network.

Various groups will be outside the court, including the NAACP and Neighborhood Networks officials.

The Advancement Project, the PA Voter ID Coalition, United Steel Workers Action United, National Action Network- Philadelphia Chapter and United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1776 will also be there.

A rally will be held at 8 a.m. at Tom Paine Plaza, which is across the street from City Hall. Members from those groups will be in attendance.

The six-judge panel will determine whether the law, which requires voters to present photo ID at the polls, will stand in time for November's election.
