President Obama to Come to Northwest Philadelphia Thursday

The president will be having dinner with David L. Cohen.

President Obama will arrive in Northwest Philadelphia Thursday for a fundraiser with Comcast Executive Vice President David L. Cohen.

According to an official White House schedule, Obama will speak at the fundraiser at 8:30 p.m. An invitation to the event says it begins at 5:30 p.m. at Cohen's home, and guests have been told to show up no later than then.

Cohen lives in Mt. Airy and has hosted previous West Mt. Airy Neighbors events at his house. He was former mayor Ed Rendell's chief of staff.

Obama attend an earlier fundraiser at the Hyatt at the Bellevue, and he'll speak there at 5:35 p.m. He is schedule to arrive at Philadelphia International Airport at 4:15 p.m.

According to the event invitation, people who donate $71,600 or raise $100,000 in advance of their attendance will have the opportunity to shake the president's hand in what is called a "VIP clutch." Event hosts, who will receive premium dinner seating, must either pay $35,800 or raise $50,000 to get in.

The lowest amount one can contribute to attend is $10,000.
