Lincoln Drive Retaining Wall Project Complete; 2014 Project Looms

A retaining wall has been stablized along Lincoln Drive near Forbidden Drive, ending a period of time in which a .

The Streets Department of Philadelphia said Tuesday that the construction along the path between Forbidden Drive and the Pabst Lane Bridge is complete.

About 500 feet of the wall was required to be stabilized after heavy rains over the summer weakened it.

"The wall was undermined by erosion and had significant damage to the mortar joints," a Streets Department release said.

The Streets Department will design and construct an architectural treatment for the repaired wall as part of a larger Lincoln Drive rehabilitation effort for 2014.
