Elected Officials Take Part in Effort to Find Missing Girl

Ebony Harris was last seen Feb. 24.

A couple of City Council members are asking for the public's help in finding a missing child who runs for the Mt. Airy Track Club.

A news release from the office of Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller said Harris, who was last seen Feb. 24, has medium brown hair, is 5'8" and weighs about 130 lbs. She is 14 years old. When she was last seen, she was wearing a black and white plaid jacket over a navy blue and plaid whilte school skirt uniform.

She has a birthmark on the upper right side of her forehead that is slightly darker than the rest of her skin.

In the release, Miller, who is partnering with Councilwoman Maria Quinones-Sanchez in asking for the public's help in finding Harris, criticized the 25th Police District (which covers parts of Tioga and Nicetown), saying district officials had trivialized the teenager's disappearance.

Those with information about Harris are asked to call detectives at 215-686-3243 or 215-686-3244.
