Community Association to Discuss Tax-Exempt Status

The Chestnut Hill Community Association will discuss changes to its tax status on Thursday.

The Chestnut Hill Community Association will discuss the possibility of seeking tax-emempt status and becoming a 501-C3 on Thursday.

The Community Association faced a budget deficit of $23,000 this year even though they had funds available to cover that deficit in the Chestnut Hill Community Fund.

Because the Community Fund is a tax-exempt organization it could not be used to fund the operations of the Community Association, which is not a tax-exempt body.
