Civic to Discuss Walnut Lane Bridge Design

The Blue Bell Hill Civic Association will discuss PennDOT plans for the Walnut Lane Bridge on Tuesday.

Members of the Blue Bell Hill Civic Association will meet Tuesday to discuss proposed changes to and repairs to the Walnut Lane Bridge and traffic circle.

Ron Goldwyn, who works for the association, said that PennDOT officials and designers will present the new, modified plan to include the Circle Garden roundabout in repair work that will require closure of the Walnut Lane Bridge for several months in 2014.

He added that the new plan is not final, and PennDOT will be seeking feedback from residents.

He also said that itt appears that the schedule for bidding and for construction has been moved back, but it's still a work in progress.

The Blue Bell Hill Civic Association will hold its regular meeting Tuesday Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Mt. Airy United Fellowship church, 701 W. Johnson Street at Walnut Lane.
