Cindy Bass Opens Campaign Office and Kicks Off Her Campaign

Cindy Bass, candidate for the 8th District City Council seat, opened her campaign office last week.

Cindy Bass, candidate for the 8th District City Council race, opened her new office on Germantown Avenue on Saturday, February 19th.  Friends and volunteers came out to show support,  pick up petitions and grab a bite to eat.  In her comments to those in attendance, Bass commended Mayor Michael Nutter for preserving basic services over the past two budget cycles.

“I don’t think it’s a secret that our city and other cities and states across the nation are experiencing budget downfalls in these hard economic times,” said Bass. “The Mayor has done an excellent job at maintaining basic services these past few years.”

Bass expressed optimism about the May 17th City Council election. “This is an exciting time for our city, even though things are tough, there is real hope in the hearts of Philadelphians.”

Bass lives with her husband, Scott, and their daughter in Northwest Philadelphia. She is a senior policy adivsor for Congressman Chaka Fattah and a graduate of Philadelphia public schools and Temple University.
