Two Reports of Theft in Chestnut Hill

The following information is provided by the Philadelphia Police Department.

The Philadelphia Police Department responded to two incidents of theft in Chestnut Hill in mid-December, according to a release from the Philadelphia Police Department.

According to reports, the manager of the Radio Shack in the plaza at 7723 Crittenden Street reported that a customer stole over $400 in items from the store on Dec 12, including two digital cameras, a cell phone with case and a digital tablet.

On the same day, a resident reported that she put her pocketbook down on a chair in the Chestnut Hill Coffee Company. She later discovered that her wallet had gone missing, resulting in the loss of over $100 in cash and credit cards.

All told, an estimated $575  was reported stolen between the two incidents on Dec 12.

Police are investigating both incidents.

Aren't pocketbooks for carrying at all times? Maybe hers didn't have a shoulder strap. And the Radio Shack, come on, you mean the store didn't have better surveillance so the thief could have been caught before exiting the place; this is an electronics store for goodness sake. Sorry for your loss, caffeine consumer, but just goes to show you can't even trust the upper echelon and the thief is probably somebody you drink coffee with and talk to on a daily basis. Sorry for the holiday disruption!
