Sovereign Bank Robbers Stole $32,000

More details emerge about the bank robbery in Chestnut Hill last week.

When two men robbed the at 8623 Germantown Avenue May 31, they fled with about $32,000 in cash, according to police reports.

The two men entered the bank just before 1 p.m., and according to an account given to police by the bank's assistant manager, told those inside the bank, "Don't move. Everybody down and stay down."

At the time of the robbery, there were two tellers, the assistant manager and one customer inside the bank.

The two men fled the bank and were last seen heading westbound on the 8600 block of Ardleigh Street. The of the suspects along with photos shortly after the robbery on May 31.
