Police Blotter: Vehicle Stolen from Rex Avenue

Each week, we will stop by the 14th District and gather the incidents reported in Chestnut Hill according to Philadelphia police.

Theft from auto … A man reported April 24, 12 a.m., that while he was parked on the 8200 block of Crittenden Street, his driver-side window was broken, and an iPod, wallet with cash and credit cards and six text books were missing, valued in total at $1,210, police said.

Attempted burglary … A resident of the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue reported April 23, 12 a.m., that she was woken by the sound of someone banging on her window screen, police said. The woman reported that she saw a man on the other side of the screen, which was broken, and that the man said he thought it was his friend’s apartment and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Burglary … A resident of the 600 block of West Hartwell Lane reported April 19, 10:30 p.m., that she came home to find her kitchen door partially open, and her son’s backpack was missing, police said. According to police, the woman also discovered that her purse, which was in her car in the garage, was gone through and $200 cash and three credit cards were taken.

Stolen vehicle … A resident of the 100 block of Rex Avenue reported April 19, 8:30 p.m., that his 2007 black Acura MDX, with Pennsylvania registration plate HMX-5849, went missing between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. that day, police said.

Theft from auto … A woman reported April 19, 1:20 p.m., that while she was parked in the McDonald’s parking lot, 7800 Germantown Ave., her passenger-side window was broken, and a black IBM Think Pad, and Blackberry phone and a GPS system, valued in total at $2,199, were missing, police said.
