Police Blotter: Three Burglaries and a Little Theft from Vehicle

The following information has been supplied by the 14th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Theft...Police say two wallets were stolen from a vehicle parked on the 200 block of West Springfield Avenue on Jan. 22 at 5:19 p.m. The complainant reported that his wallet–which contained $200 and TD Bank and Gap credit cards–and his mother’s–which contained $120 and a Capital One credit card–were both stolen. The complainant reported that all three of the cards were used after the theft.

Burglary...There was a burglary reported of a residence on Devon Street on Jan. 21 at 4 p.m., police say. The complainant reported to police that $300, a safe containing paperwork, passports, a vehicle registration, and jewelry were taken from the residence sometime between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. It is believed the burglar broke the lock off the residence's back door, and entered thusly. Attempts to recover finger prints were unsuccessful.

Burglary...Police say there was a burglary from an apartment in the 7000 section of Stenton Avenue on Jan. 20 at 6:45 p.m. The complainant’s fiance told police that sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., unknown persons entered the residence and stole 4 diamond wedding bands, two antique diamond rings, two Movado bracelets, one Rolex watch, a diamond braided bracelet with charms, a diamond scorpio pendant, a 36” bead chain necklace, a Tiffany necklace with a keychain, two personal clocks, and a Yamaha DVD player. There was no sign of forced entry.

Burglary...There was a burglary of a residence on the 500 block of West Gravers Lane on Jan. 18 at 2:11 a.m., police say. The complainant was alerted to an intruder by her home security company. After being told the point of entry was the kitchen, she checked and saw that the window pane was broken out from the back of the kitchen door. An Apple laptop, Visa card, debit card, and $500 were taken.
