Police Blotter: Thefts from Auto

Each week, we will stop by the 14th District and gather the incidents reported in Chestnut Hill according to Philadelphia police.

Theft … A woman reported March 15, 12 a.m., that after shopping at Pathmark, 7700 Crittenden Street, she left her purse in a shopping cart, police said. According to police, the woman returned for her purse two minutes later and it was gone, along with the $150 cash and credit cards inside.

Burglary … A resident of the 100 block of West Mermaid Lane reported March 15, 2:38 a.m., that he and his wife saw a man, wearing a black leather jacket with white trim, walk up their driveway and enter their garage, police said. According to police, the man was gone by the time they arrived.

Theft from auto … A resident of the 100 block of East Mermaid Lane reported March 16, 8:30 p.m., that between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m., someone had broken the back driver-side window and taken a laptop and laptop case, valued at $1,500, police said.

Theft from auto … A resident of the 300 block of East Willow Grove Avenue, reported March 14, 10:33 a.m., that while she was parked on the 7700 block of Crittenden Street, someone gained entry into her car and took a GPS system and some prescription drugs, valued in total at $275, police said.
