Police Blotter: Burglaries, Thefts and Counterfeit Money

The following information has been supplied by the 14th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Theft from auto … A man reported May 5, 4:15 p.m., that while he had his car parked at Valley Green, 7 Valley Green Road, someone broke a back rear window of his car and a bag and suitcase containing items with a total value of $4,319 were missing, police said.

Burglary … A resident of the 400 block of East Gravers Lane reported May 5, 8:45 p.m., that someone had kicked in the door to his house and two televisions, a camera, jewelry and $150 in cash were missing, police said.

Retail theft … The owner of , 8614 Germantown Ave., reported May 5,  1:15 p.m., that one of his customers saw a man take a $500 camera from a display case and left the store without paying, police said.

Theft … The business manager for the Chestnut Hill Business Association reported May 3, 6 p.m., that someone broke into the association’s storage shed and a leaf blower, a weed whacker and a box of trash bags were missing, police said.

Burglary … A resident of the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue reported May 4, 9:30 a.m., that a MacBook laptop, valued at $1,200, was missing from his apartment, police said.

Theft … A resident of the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue reported May 4, 12:30 p.m., that a man came to purchase the dirtbike he had for sale, handed him 12 $100 bills, and sped off on the bike before the man realized the money was counterfeit, police said.

Burglary … Police responded to a burglar alarm on the 7800 block of Roanoke Street May 3, 10:16 p.m., to find that the glass in a door was broken and that items in the front bedroom were in disarray, but the residents are out of town and unable to report whether anything is missing, police said.

Burglary … A resident of the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue reported May 3, 5 p.m., that someone appeared to wedge open a rear wooden door but was unable to get in, police said.

Theft … A resident of the unit block of East Chestnut Hill Avenue reported May 2, 9:14 p.m., that a diamond ring, valued at $2,400, was missing from his home, police said.
