Police Blotter: Burglar Tries Window and Door, Gives Up

The following information has been supplied by the 14th District of the Philadelphia Police Department. If arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Theft from auto ... A man reported May 19, 6 p.m., that while he was parked outside of Valley Green Inn, 7 Valley Green Road, someone entered his car and a stereo system and wallet were missing, police said.

Attempted burglary ... A resident of the 8000 block of St. Martins Lane reported May 19, 3:45 p.m., that someone attempted to enter his home by using a ladder to get into a kitchen window, and by trying to pry open a basement door, but no entry was gained, police said.

Theft ... An employee of Pathmark, 7700 Crittenden St., reported May 17, 8 a.m., that someone took her purse from under her register and left the store, police said.

Burglary ... A resident of the 200 block of East Willow Grove Avenue reported May 15, 7 a.m., that someone entered his apartment by kicking in an air conditioning unit and a television was missing, police said.

Theft from auto ... A man reported May 16, 11:20 a.m., that while he was parked ont he 200 block of West Evergreen Avenue, someone broke his front windshield and took the inspection and emission stickers from his car, police said.

Burglary ... A resident of the 400 block of West Moreland Avenuenue reported May 16, 10 p.m., that she returned home to find an open window on the second floor of her house and $5,000 in jewelry was missing, police said.
